Behind the Pages: A Glimpse Into My Writing World

Behind the Pages: A Glimpse Into My Writing World

There's a moment, usually somewhere between a cold cup of tea and a half-finished sentence, when a story stops being an idea and starts becoming real. That's the moment I live for.

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. I'm Gary, and if you've found your way here, chances are you love books as much as I do — or you're at least curious about the person writing them.

Where the Stories Begin

Every book I write starts the same way: a question I can't stop thinking about. Not a plot, not a character — just a question. What if this happened? What would that feel like? Who would survive that?

The Pacific Affair was born exactly like that. A question about loyalty, danger, and what happens when the ocean becomes both your escape and your trap. I scribbled it down, left it alone for a while — and it never left me. That's how I knew it was worth writing.

The Reality of the Writing Life

I won't pretend it's all candlelight and inspiration. The Pacific Affair went through more rewrites than I care to admit. Characters shifted, timelines changed, and there were chapters I had to cut that I genuinely loved. That's the craft — knowing what serves the story and what doesn't.

But holding the finished book? That makes every difficult day worth it.

Read It for Yourself

The Pacific Affair is available now in my store. If you enjoy fast-paced storytelling with heart, tension, and a backdrop of open water — this one's for you.
